McDemott 3/8-9

So I have a customer that can't screw his new shaft on his McDermott cue.
He was told it was a McDermott shaft. Suppose to be a 3/8-10 radial.
I measured the pin on the butt and as close as I can tell it's a 3/8-9 radial.
So... can I find a tap for this cause he ruined the shaft by screwing it on anyways.
Or is it something other than 3/8-9, maybe metric?

As far as I know Mcdermott does not have a radial they use a 3/8 10 standard pin in almost all the cues they make. I do have one that has a quick release but that's not standard. If he tried to put a radial shaft on a 3/8 10 pin it would cross thread and possibly split the shaft. If its not split it can probably be fixed.
