Offered is a beautiful old D-25 McDermott. This stylized box cue came from AZr Coby Atkins who was selling off a massive collection of production cues. I bought it ($650) with the intent of sending it back to McDermott for their $250 restoration service. I did this with a model D16 and was delighted with their work...all issues fixed, new wrap and finish and a new shaft with matching collar ring. In this case, however, I never got around to sending the cue out...and now my priorities have changed.
Butt appears to be in original condition. Leather wrap. Excellent finish. 1 small ding in the butt sleeve. Great figure in the nose. Many birdseyes and good luster. Very slight lifting at the joint collar on one side (can feel it with a finger nail) but finish otherwise good even at the butt cap transition. Slight finish chipping at the bottom of the butt cap bevel by the bumper. Overall 9 out of 10. Shaft has a wobble and the ferrule is wrong. Ivory...should be plastic. Cracked ferrule. Overall, this cue will make a great addition to a D series collection with minimal work. Gorgeous. I've seen several over the years in similar condition priced between $725 and $800.
