I picked this up a few years ago and since I'm going to start culling the herd for future move I thought I'd see what it's valued at.

I've looked on and off for a few years and I have never seen one like this so it's hard to get a value on it. It has been used over the years but the lid is still super tight and the latch works, there is no key.

Thanks in advance.

Andy

I don't see a tag; however, the interior was loose around the edges when I received it and I have since glued it back down, it's possible the tag fell off along the way. I'll do a bit more research on the location of the tag and see what I can come up with. Also, the latch is the same as a Fellini. The person I received it from purchased it years ago (guessing 20-30?), do you know of any other case makers that would make this and use that same latch? As mentioned, I've looked around for years but have never found anything like it.

Thanks for the input.

I see three areas of interest for this item - cue case collectors, Mc Dermott cue collectors, and Mac HD cue collectors more specifically. I would say $150 to $300 as a range - my best estimate would be about right in the middle there at about $225 + shipping.

In the condition pictured, I wouldn’t buy it unless it had some kind of sentimental value. Not trying to be rude, from personal history w similar cases, just was not much interest, even in near mint condition.

Believe me, there is definitely a market for this case, it may not be you, but it will sell - I would recommend trying to polish up this case a bit- a good dark leather paste wax would go a long way to helping buff out the case to a nicer appearance - cleaning up a cue case does not negatively affect the value as some perceive with a refinished vintage cue like a GB. It just needs to be done with a quality leather cleaner/ leather paste wax/ clean cotton / buffing device/ with an even tone throughout - a really good shoemaker shop can do wonders on a case like this - all the minor imperfections will disappear.

Mike, I respect your opinion, but that seam is a killer and the wood being dented in the covers is also a major downfall.

Yes the case will not sell as a mint vintage Mac HD case / Fellini style for sure- no argument here. But I do think that getting it polished up in a quality fashion with the proper color leather paste wax would do wonders for the case body. I would not attempt to restore the wood, just bc of the logos, the amount of work required to do that would not be worth to a seller.
However, this is not a common cue case, there are not many of them around. it is a good match for certain collectors, if I were a Mac HD cue collector of the HD series I would want one or more of these cases for sure- it is not horrible condition. I think that the light seam line would fade out with proper paste wax application.

Thanks all. I'm not surprised it's not a Fellini given I could never find anything similar and it has those wooden blocks on the ends. I'll probably clean it up and throw it on e-bay and see what happens.

To a pool player and McD fan then I would say about $300.

To a Harley guy then 3k.
If that's what you think you aint paying attention. HD stuff has really dropped a lot in the last few years, I say this as someone who lives in the original home of HD.

Your right, I sold mine for $120 and it was in better condition. Most people want to carry more than one cue and supplies so these are not as valuable as they use to be.

I like fire sales. We always hear those Harley guys selling their new bikes for cheap. It’s usually the wife made them do it because she wants her parking spot back in the garage.

Normally I see bikes a couple of years old with very few miles, seems they buy them and then don't ride them.
