I forgot about that cue. Man, I used to have a VERY large poster with a
knight in a castle using the cue.

The poster was stolen from my office, but that's the way it goes.

It was some type of promotion, and I believe the cue weighed a few pounds, and
was not usable, but was cool. I remember it had obsidian, and some other
exotic materials in it.

Celtic Prince...

Last time I heard anything about the Celtic Prince, it was said to have been sold upwards of $1oo,ooo. There was a story being told that Thomas Wayne really didn't think it would sell and put what he thought was a price no one would ever agree to. Guess what, he was wrong and it sold!

I had the pleasure of baby sitting Mr. McDermotts Intimidator a few times. I even got to hit a few balls with it. 9 lbs of pure cue whoop ass. It has drawn blood. A serious fantasy cue. Got a story of how it came into being..if any are interested.

I am interested in your story you can PM me if you want. I remember that cue as a Teen seeing posters of it in the poolhalls back home. I always wanted to play a game with it.

Huh... whitey2 do you know anything about the "Celtic Prince" cue by Thomas Wayne?

Nope. I just happen to be in the right place at the right time when the poster
arrived at a local pool room quite a while ago, and I got it, and I think perhaps
a flyer.

My cue knowledge/experience is very limited to Meucci, and just a few McDermotts,
a very cheap almost joint-invisible sneaky, an old warped/messed-up Dufferin, and
a spark break cue.

I still experiment with black-dot and pre-dot shafts when I get a chance, and I also
install tips, and restore/recondition shafts.

SO, don't consider me a cue expert. Some of the folks on here are gurus. :)

OK. short but sweet story on the creation of the Intimidator cue.
Many years ago Mr. McD employed an artist by the name of Roy Nehs. A very talented kid who drew up the most amazing cue designs ever seen by this writer. He was also responsible for most of their advertising design and was always creating something fresh and new. The stacks of art i had the pleasure of going through were nothing short of WOW factor.
Every week Mr. McDermott would go through the work...and if he saw something that even remotely resembled someone else's work...it was rejected, even tho it might have been a fabulous design. That is why a McD was always recognizable from across the room. While many did not like his new ideas and innovations, thousands of happy buyers did.
One day Mr. McD happened to notice a pencil sketch that Roy had done on the bottom of one of these design sheets and asked Roy what was this? He responded, "its just something that came into my head, but we could NEVER build anything like that." That was all it took. A slight dare and the words from the boss. DO IT!!!!!!!!
Eight months later, VOILA. The blade work is just great, and was featured on the cover of Guns and Knives magazine.

The picture you are seeing is the butt. So when playing with this, you will stab yourself with the cue, and kill yourself. It's more like a suicide cue, rather than a intimidator cue.
