My brother bought this cue:

I'm thinking it's a P710, perhaps a EF4.

Would appreciate any info. Cue came without a weight bolt :-( and no butt cap.

I have a feeling he over paid (particularly with the items missing).

I see there are two sizes of weight bolts for this cue, 1/2" and 3/4" again, any idea which one is the right one for the cue?
I also see that the weight bolts for this cue have a head. Does that mean that the center of balance cannot be adjusted?

Any idea what the weight of the cue and shaft would be with no weight, so I can suggest a weight bolt for him?

How about the butt cap, are these pretty standard?

Anyone have an idea of it's current value, retail was $449 back in '08 (if it is indeed a P710 as I suspect).

Thanks

Weight bolts and butt caps are easy to get....

Value? Don't get your hopes up...

lol, I've found the weight bolts, just not sure of 1/2" or 3/4". Had no delusions of it being rare or of value, just watching out for my bro.

If you want a quick correct answer about bolts, butt cap etc call McD.

Cue value is whatever someone will pay. To me, it is ugly so $25 tops if straight and clean.

But if I liked the looks of it I might pay more. For example, in 2008 I bought some McD cues as house cues for my new used pool table. That was during my last dealings on Ebay, and I could still find bargains. I paid $158 for my EF6 with nice 1x2 case, $85 for a real clean grey stain D6, and only $85 for a clean like-new M43B Tempe with Porper 1x1 case, and $168 for an M44A Classic with steel QR joint.

Then I upped my ante to $325 when I found a M14D Portico, steel QR joint and 2x2 case, because I admired its looks and wanted one.

Eventually they all looked great lined up in the cue rack, though last spring I sent EF6, D6, and M44A Classic to daughter #2 for her family to enjoy.

Your photo cue looks exactly like EF4, 1990-2000, least expensive of that lineup having points inlayed. It is old but not old enough to be rare. Clean, re-tip, get it around 19 oz and just have fun. If he thinks he paid too much, well haven't we all.
