McDermott Quick Release problem

I have a McDermott Sedona cue. It has a quick release joint. The problem is that the McDermott joint protectors are WAY to tall for my case to close. Does anyone know where I can get shorter protectors?

Just have the ones you have shortened from the top.

Wrap a piece of masking tape around them individually and mark off with a pen where you need then shortened to.
