McDermott shafts - i-2?

OK I am getting tiered of this.....

The title of THIS thread is "McDermott's shafts I-2"

It is NOT about any other shaft or foam! If you would like I would be happy to create one for you!!! I'll call it "Predator shafts filled with foam!!

Please keep your comments to the TITLE of the thread!

THANKS!

Good luck with that.
I'm terribly sorry that the direction of this thread didn't take the path that you

To the REAL OP, I apologize for the fact that your thread took-on a life of it's own

There was a little bit of foam after the ferrule on my 314-2 which I sent back to predator.

i-2

I bought an I-2 shaft a few months ago and really like the feel of it. I get a lot more action with it over the stock shaft. I have a tiger Everest tip on the stock shaft and a morri on the I-2. If you looking to buy one I'm selling mine with the butt. Its a mcdermott M15b.

I have found the Mcdermott I2 to be the best LD shaft on the market. The control, construction and consistency is amazing. By far the best one out there right now. I have played ob1 & ob2 I find them both to be spongy and they tend to split and splinter. I have tried tip changes to get rid of the sponge like hit with no help its the way the shaft is made that causes this issue. The pie shape cut pieces used to maintain radial consistency is what causes the spliting and splintering. I have since sold both my ob shafts off and will never again buy their products. The warranty Mcdermott offers on the I series shafts is second to none in the market place another big plus when investing 200 dollars on a LD shaft. Do the research on these shafts the stats don't lie.

Favorite ld shaft of an ld shaft hater! Anyone else compared the i2 with ob and predator?

Shafts I have are Predator 314, 314-2, OB1, I-2, I-3 as well as shafts from Scruggs, Tad, Judd, Schon... To tell you the truth.. I can't tell a noticeable difference in any of them... I play just as good with a house cue as I do any other cue I have.. I'm just a banger tho and this is only my opinion... Take Care..

I've played on most of the different performance shafts

The I-2 compares very similarly to the 314-2, the OB Classic, and the Lucasi Zero Flex in lowering deflection and squirt.

The difference I felt was when I had to muscle the cue ball, say 3 rails for shape. The Zero Flex and the Classic feel stiff to me, some like this feel, they describe it as solid. I describe it as rigid. It's all personal preference @ this point, as performance wise, they're pretty similar in construction and play. The I-2 hit, I'd describe as in between the Classic and the 314. The 314 is my preferred shaft out of these 3. It has a cushioning layer under the ferrule that helps dampen shock of the hit. Some people describe this as a "mushy" feeling hit. I happen to like it. As I said before, preference. My advice would be to try them all out for yourself. Another advantage to a McDermott or Lucasi LD shaft, is that they come with a lifetime warranty against even warpage. Predators do not include warpage in theirs. OB's warranty is very vague when it comes to warpage. My guess is they're going to include warpage in the "abuse" category and not honor the warranty, but I've never had a shaft from them warp on me. I have had the McDermott I-3 warp on me though..

Hope this helps.
Mike.

not being able to move the cueball?

IMO has more to do with your stroke than the shaft.
nice level cue and follow through!

second would be the tip, the cheapest upgrade to a cue is a good tip.
and a $40 tip is alot cheaper than a $200+ new shaft!

but if you are set on a new shaft... mcdermott's maintainance and warranty plan are amazing! IMO unbeatable!

also would like to mention jacoby's LD shaft is another one to throw into the mix.
