Medalist slate liner

I recently bought a used 9' Brunswick Medalist table, when I was transporting the table(disassembled) a couple of the slate liner boards came unbonded from the slate. They were attached to the slate with glue. The boards(poplar?) were undamaged and I wish to reattach them. What type of glue should I use?

Slate liner

I use carpenters glue, it is the yellow wood glue that you can get at Home Depot. You do not need to use alot, clamp it in place when you do it.
