Meet & Greet @ the Expo in VF!

the drive alone for me is 20+ hours

tell Barry Szamboti hi from Wild Bill in Florida, and im keeping good care of the cues he made for me

also if you get to the sledgehammer booth and a guys doin repair work, that maybe Rick Howard

im too old to hitchhike, and afraid of falling asleep at the wheel
 
I'll be there, but I don't know if I will have time to meet/greet people. I am thinking Sat., but with be with a small group of people.
 
Just FYI

I spoke with Timberly earlier today. She said that Jeeves is already at the expo setting up and that smoking will be allowed downstairs.

Bob and I leave early Wed AM. See you all soon!

Bummer. I don't really care for cigarette smoking, but sometimes I welcome it because it's part of the pool mystique (I'm thinking Q-master Billiards in VA) but I think it was last year when the smoke was so thick down there my eyes would start to tear within about 5 minutes. Oh well, you can't win 'em all! :o

I'm a smoker and I can't stand to be down there for more than 5 min. :rolleyes: The rumor started somewhere because I wasn't the only one to hear it... hopefully it means that sometime in the future (hopefully next yr) they'll make it smoke free.

I have never been to the expo, what is downstairs? Just curious cuz i'm bringing my pregnant wife.

There are two levels....the ground level and then a basement level. The basement is where the league tournaments are held and there are also vendors down there.

You wife will be fine upstairs but I don't suggest taking her downstairs. There aren't as many vendors downstairs so it wouldn't take you as long to go through them. If you find something upstairs that interests her, maybe she could stay upstairs while you ran down to check things out.

It sounds like you have done this more than once. I have never been there. I was told that there are a lot of tables for people to play on. Also was told, you can only have cues if you are an exhibitor or have a player's badge. Can you confirm or deny this? I want to bring a cue, but don't want to leave it in the car.

You don't have to have a players badge to bring in your cue..... I've never heard that. I believe you're allowed to have a case no larger than a 3x6.... Barbara could answer for sure on the size of the case. You're not allowed to buy & sell with other customers. You can only do that with vendors.

There are PLENTY of tables to play on once the tournaments have ended for the evening. Bar tables only. The pro arena is off limits when the tournament is not going on. John Barton said they'll have both a 9ft & a barbox in their booth that we can use though. ;)

Thanks Timberly, I'll bring a cue or three. That John Barton is a real sport, I got plenty of playing time on his table at the WCO. I got to play John, Blud and DaytonaJoe on it.

Barbara has been keeping up with these threads....wait & see what she says before you decide which cues to bring in. I would hate for you to have 3 & they tell you that you can only have 2.... ;)

It was the upper 70's today... unheard of in this area during this time of the year.... AZ gets snow & we got summer... something weird is going on in our weather world!

I have never been stopped carrying my 3x6, but I have had a players badge.

The doors will open at 8 am for the players to warm up, but the vendors won't open until 10 am.

That's on Thursday.

The Expo area is closed to the general public while the Exhibitors are setting up.

The Expo doesn't start until Thurs. The only thing going on Wed is the Pro-Am charity event, Wed evening.

My wife and I will be arriving some time Wed afternoon.
