Are you a member of the United States Billiard Association? If not, or if you have let your membership lapse, I hope you will join or renew. I can tell you as one of the USBA Directors (Southwest Region) that we would like to see as many players as possible become members. The cost is $36/per year, and includes a free subscription to Professor Q-Ball, which now includes our newsletter.
As you probably know, the USBA is the official body overseeing organized carom billiards in the United States. Besides conducting the National Championship Tournament each year, and coordinating with the many Regional Tournaments that lead up to the Nationals, the USBA is now sponsoring a 3-Cushion Tour of tournaments around the country (2 tournaments have already taken place earlier this year).
There seems to be a resurgence of carom billiards in the United States, and the USBA is trying to be an engine of growth.
You can join or renew by going to the USBA website www.usba.net
