i know of a tourny at a bar called old whittin bar. it is off the intersection of whitten rd. and summer road. never been to a tourny there but here is what i know.
5.00 entry. house matches half the pot. played on 7' valleys. usually has 12 to 14 players in it.
if you had posted yesterday i could have steered you to several that are played on fri and sat nights.
i dont know how long you are staying but high pockets has a couple tourneys a week on 9' gold crowns.

the only game I don't play is 1 pkt. I like a game straight best, but not to many ppl play it. I only play the small tables if it is an emergency.

well i am just the opposite lol. i play mostly on bar boxes and play 8 or 9 ball. come to high pockets tonight around 7 and ask for buddy when you go up to the counter. i can introduce you to several guys i know who play 1 pocket on the big tables.
you can also ask for tracy and tell him you are a member of az. he is the owner and can set you up also. he is a member of az also and a hell of a nice guy.
