hello, could anybody please tell me how the quality of this new meucci cues is? i hope the newer ones are better than the models from the 90s. how did a black dot shaft compare to a normal or 314 shaft?

IMHO the new Meucci Black - Red What every dot is Crap. About 4 years ago I bought a Meucci with two shafts one Red one Black Dot. I ended up giving it to a Kid who was working for me part time. He can play and didn't like it either so he traded it to next guy who traded and so on.

I see other Meucci owners who have moved up the OB Shaft rather than buy a total new Cue. I have a 1980 Meucci and it still hits great.
 
I used to play with a Meucci awhile back. I was interested in the 21st century cues too. I knew a cue dealer who stopped stocking them bc they were not impressed. As far as the black dot, I don't think its a bad shaft at all and I still pick mine up from time to time but have moved on.
 
i shoot with an original. and collect originals. but as for the 90's meucci's most were junk when he sold out...but the black dot shaft i always thought was a nice shaft.

You can see from my avatar that I use an ORIGINAL. If you want a good, first , fancy stick for a reasonable price Meucci is not a bad way to go. They have beautiful designs and ,notwithstanding what you read, don't hit bad, for guys at my level, at least. BUT! I would not buy a new one. There are too many deals on Ebay to pay retail for a new cue. If you have the extra few bucks go for an ORIGINAL. They hit good, the wood is highly figured, the designs and workmanship are exceptional for the price, and the remarketability of a good ORIGINAL is very high.:smile:
