That was, is, and always will be my intention...
"to do it right the first time"...
But, this was the first time that I had come across a black dot ferrule, of which the entire ferrule cap had been cut off...
I did learn that it is by design that they use a tapered end of the tenon...which leaves the void behind the cap...and I appreciate the help that is provided with a positive perspective...but obviously there are many things that one must experience in order to know all of the variances between all of the different cues and ferrules, and low deflection efforts that all of the various cue builder's offer.
It's based on exposure, there's no doubt, I am very anal about doing the job right the first time, and that is exactly why I posted my question about the issue that I encountered. I wanted to learn from the guys that have more experience within the industry.
I didn't anticipate that I'd be criticized with a condescending/degrading tone.
