Found this on eBay, mint condition '84-'85 gambler cue. Wondering if it's worth it. Been looking for a while. http://m.ebay.com/itm/231385962292?nav=SEARCH just curious.

Not without an original shaft.
400 would be the high price of a 84 series (which is what it is) complete cue.
If it were from the 70's with a brass pin and pill bumper or even a earlier no bumper version, that would be a good deal.

Today you must be very carefull as Meucci has reproduced the gambler and a bunch of other originals. They all come with Black dot shafts and would be a dead give away if listed with the cue. I dont know for sure this is the case but maybe there is a way to tell. There are a few cues on ebay right now. Here's one

I haven't checked them out yet but I do know that the originals had a larger rubber bumper that would fit in just the plastic butt sleeve. The newer style Meuccis have wood all of the way to the end and need a smaller dia. bumper.
Ask the seller to send you a pic of the inside of the butt (with the bumper next to it). If you see any wood at all in ther, it's definitely not an 84 gambler.

Looked at it again and read that it is limited production so don't waste your money it's new crap!
