Meucci Cues warning

Every time...

Every time some proud Meucci owner hands me his cue I notice the popping veneers, loose butt caps, poor joint alignment, ferule that's about to fail and shaft wood the quality of a broom handle.

Then I hit a few balls and the buzz in the loose construction makes me go tone deaf. I smile and say..."nice cue...you should be proud". They have been garbage for 20 years. Nothing will change except when they go out of business people will pay huge money for 1980's vintage Meucci's which are just average by any standard...like preflag Master's.

Wow! Sorry to hear this. You have certainly showed courtesy and restraint. I have sued in small claims court (in Avondale AZ) over an accident. A woman hit my parked car. It was an interesting experience. I went to the courthouse and asked about the process. They had a packet made up with all the info needed. I filled out the forms, paid the fee and also the fee to have the other party served. If you go this route make sure you sue for all your expenses plus your damages. After filing everything I was later given a court date. I won my case and got the money I was suing for that day. Good luck.

Wow that is some BS - I would have not been as kind and patient but IMO those Vintage Original OL-1's are nice players and they were holding it.

Not sure what the hell he was talking about 'cutting the cue/butt' ?? to straighten. I called them once about a old 'Original' I had. I forget who I was speaking with but Bob was there in the back round barking and relaying my questions when he could have just picked up the phone.

They wanted crazy $ for repair and just the phone call was odd so I never sent cue in. Good thing, I have heard similar horror stories, shoddy work and broken promises. Unlike many Meucci haters here, I like the whippy taper OLD 'Originals' on BB's. But hard to come by one that has collars, ferrules intact that is straight. Many left in trunks of cars or just played hard and beat to death.

I would not pay them a dime after all those promises and lies. They should return the cue at N/C with apology.

-Kat,

Wow. Read the email thread on your website. Borderline unbelievable, but I DO believe it unfortunately.

The very 1st "custom cue" I ever bought was a Meucci 333-5. It was gorgeous. Still is. It's the SINGLE, WORST hitting cue I've come across in my life. I say custom above, because I requested 18.25 oz. And it came with a sticker on the bottom that said as much. It makes me wonder if they even touched it just slapped that sticker on.

I had a couple of close friends pick it up and try to hit with it. They each said it had the worst hit ever.

I've kept it for sentimental reasons. That's it. I refuse to play with it.

Oh yea, it's one of those with the clear coat sprayed over the wrap. There are 3 big fingerprints in that clear coat from where someone apparently checked it at the Meucci shop......3 times. Geez.

perplexed as to why BOB hasn't rectified this horrific level of customer service

it's NOT hard to be honest with customers

is he capable/willing of taking the necessary action

adam====>friend since 64

Bob is not the solution - he is the problem

Well, I say we blow up the email at Moochy. C'mon everybody, lets' see if we can get Brian his cue back.
Anyone that lives there game to make a stop?

I am sorry for your troubles. I just couldnt help but laugh a little reading thru the emails. At one point, I think in October you ask if you will get the cue back by December. They reply "oh yeah, that will be no problem at all". 5 months after December and you still dont have it back, that is pathetic customer service at best. At minumum they should have sent you a new cue to have something while they were overextending the repair time on yours.

Thanks Fastone37 I agree, at times I too laughed in disbelief.

Yeah its hard to comprehend.

Did you ever make a payment for the work supposedly done?

If you really think they were selling the cues as they come in, and then potentially replacing them (if they ever do) with cheaper cues, it seems to me that this would be a criminal enterprise, would it not?

No, I didn't make payment. That would be doubly bad if I did. I cant comment on the criminal enterprise, but what I can say is one lost cue is an incident and two (or more) 'lost cues' is a trend. We've had two in this thread alone.

Are you gonna actually file in municipal court?

You know what, I dont want to - Im actually dumb enough to hold out hope that they somehow get wind of all this and do the right thing.

I really dont like talking bad about any business or putting up a stupid website with my douchey emails.. but short of going there with a pistol, demanding my cue, being thrown in the Byhalia, Mississippi clink - thats the best damn thing I could come up with to get the 7 and the last four.

Wow... what a f..cked up way to treat a customer. Your patience with this whole situation is incredible. Thank you for posting this . Hopefully now others considering buying a cue from meucci will know what to expect.

Thanks, with all of yall nice folks taking notice it sure helps.

Thanks for the court info flyrv9, good to hear you made out on the positive side.

Pretty wild that this thread has been allowed to go 5 pages with no rebuttal or apology. That about sums it up.

-Kat,

Thanks Kat, agreed some of the Originals if you got one that was made right they sure hit solid as could be.

Haha good story. I bet you're right they just threw that sticker on and said here's your custom.

Hot off the press....Dennis Orcollo is joining team Meucci.

I'm hoping he will be working in the shop....

I have waited over two years for cue repair from Meucci more than once.

Yes I still deal with them.

Unreal

So you're going through this and I know it's not only you it's happened too. A buddy of mine on my old APA team a few years back got a Custom Meucci built for him for a Christmas present from his wife. She told him on Christmas Day that he would have it in 6 months because it was a Bob Meucci Custom. Well, a year later he finally gets it and he's happy because it's beautiful to him so all is good.
Two and a half months go by of playing with the $1000+ Custom Meucci (only came with one shaft) and he lets me play a match with it and I go to take a shot and get stabbed in my finger by a green plastic inlay popping up through the finish like a little diving board, drew blood. After showing him and inspecting the cue, about 5 other inlays where about to pop through. He sent it back to Meucci for warranty refinish and it took them a year to get it back to him with the same BS excuses. He did get it back and looked nice.
He moved back to WV with his cue and I went to a pawn shop looking for cues and video games and seen a Meucci that looked just like his white and green "Custom" Meucci with a broken collar. So I guess it wasn't a 1 of 1 Custom. Lost respect for Meucci. He was an older gentleman that loved his Meucci's back in the day when they cared. Good luck sir.
