Meucci HOF Cue Question

New to the forums, lets hope this is a simple one. I live in Oklahoma City, and I just bought a used Meucci hof2. I really dont like coated wraps and I want to get the cue refinished and rewrapped. I took it by Jimmy Ingrams house, and he said that he doesnt want to touch it for fear of messing up the cue.

Have any of you builders cut off a coated wrap and how did it end up. And is there anyone here in the area that would like to try it? I also have a 314-2 that I need matching rings for.

Hello McCoy,
I make my living everyday doing just the type of work you are seeking.
I live in Mich. and have been doing all of Seybert's custom work for the past 7 yrs. You could send it to them or to me directly. My cost for what you are asking would be in the $150/$200 range. All my work is guaranteed. Please feel free to PM me.

i dont wana c block someones buisness but you dont have to refinsh the cue to change a coated wrap. unless you want to. joe just took a coated wrap off my friends brand new meucci and put a new linen wrap on it . it came out perfect no lips at all

I just unwind the old wrap. It peels off nicely and does not harm the finish. I can just install the new wrap for $35. I will also match the 314-2 to your cue for $45.

If the finish on the cue is good Ratcues has the best suggestion and it is one I ahve done dozens of times myself. I am not interested in doing the job as busy as I am, but if the finish is good someone with experience can re-wrap it without damaging the finish 99% of the time.
