Mezz Cue Linen to Leather

Hi-

I am going to rewrap my Mezz ASTR cue with smooth leather. It came with black Irish linen. Will the channel need to be cut down to fit the leather wrap? The leather wrap I am getting is split in .022 to .025 thickness.

If you buy leather from a quality source, it's no problem at all. Mezz uses a standard wrap thickness groove. I assume you have the leather wrap jig, the wrap groove length jig and all other tools necessary?

I won't be doing it myself, there is a local cue repair guy here in Vegas who has the gear. Knowing it is a standard groove really helps, thanks Kim!
