Mezz Cue shipment

I ordered a cue from Mezz cues USA and chose expedited delivery. I wasn't informed that it required signature anywhere in the order or email confirmation. I wasn't home and will now have to pick up shipment. When I contacted Mezz about the issue and possible refund for shipping they provided me a link of there shipping terms and conditions on the website where at the very bottom it mentions that a signature is required for my type of delivery. jjcue.com and manningcues.com offer mezz cues at an excellent price and provide amazing customer service.

So you chose a service, but didn't bother reading what it provides. The signature requirement is actually a bonus believe it or not. If you don't understand why, it's to protect you from "lost shipments" at your door. If anything you should be praising the MezzUSA carrier service for adhering to the standards you selected.

This reminds me of a former life when working maintenance at a Glad facility. We had to print on the garbage bags "Don't place over head" amongst other warnings. I used to laugh at the effort back then. Now you have me wondering why we bothered.

I think JV's spin is slightly harsh, but I'd see the signature requirement as a good thing too. The inconvenience is part of the trade-off for keeping a valuable item safe.

"Harsh"...?..., possibly... I really don't think I'm spinning the facts though.

I just get my panties in a knot when I see people poopoo'ing on vendors when they do exactly what they were told to do. I have no affiliation to MezzUSA.

It was to protect you from porch pirates.
I'm sure they have been screwed by these cocksucking thieves many times.

If you didnt see it in the shipping terms on the website, did you check the tracking information? I dont know ANYONE that doesnt check the tracking info several times on an expensive shipment. Signature Required should have been there too.

If you knew there was a chance the delivery might come when you were not there, you should have confirmed with MezzUSA over the phone as to whether a signature was going to be required, and if it was, request for them to waive that requirement.

For numerous shipments I’ve ordered, MezzUSA provides excellent customer service and prompt shipment and delivery of in-stock items.

When you track your packages, I'm sure it will let you know if signature is required. I've had lots of items delivered, that when ordered didn't say anything about signature required. I now make it a habit to look for it when looking up tracking #.

I think I didn't explain my point properly, my problem is not with the signature being required but how I was informed of that. When I selected the shipping it was not listed anywhere nor was it listed in the tracking confirmation. The only way to find it was to scroll on their website, select the shipping terms link, then read through it. My complaint was just not being informed properly.

In fairness to the merchant I do understand that the signature requirement is really a bonus and there was no bad intent with adding it, I definitely overreacted to the issue.
I think most of us here can relate as to the excitement / anticipation of expecting a new shaft or cue to arrive, and the disappointment if it doesn’t arrive the day it is anticipated to arrive, for ourselves or for a customer, particularly if you paid $$ for expedited shipping.

In the big picture, you’ll be fine, and just even more excited when you do finally receive it!

To those of you who live in a place where 2nd day air service is a real thing or expedited shipping I'm jealous that's only a dream if you live in Montana ha ha

I understand the signature to receive a package as a good thing yes it can be a pain if no one is at the address to sign for the package .

When you pay for extra shipping it usually requires signature confirmation. If you pay for any insurance and the item is valued and insured over $500 it automatically becomes signature required. All these benefit you the buyer, IMO.

Since covid though, signature required turned into a waist. Packages were just being dropped off with no signature because everyone was scared of contact.

All the companies lately have just been dropping packages, taking a pic and leaving. They don't even knock or ring the bell anymore. Such a shame. We've had 4 packages stolen in 3 days because of this. When all the delivery people would have to do is ring the bell or knock when departing. Especially since people were home all those days. Now I can't get anything delivered here in fear of this.

So the moral here is signature confirmation is aok in my book. Can't imagine a cue worth any amount of money being stolen because it was just left on your doorstep.

Put a large lock box on porch. In special shipping instructions, note for the driver to place package in box and lock it. If they dont follow the added special instructions, the delivery company can then be held liable.

We were thinking about that but it's a complex of townhouses we rent from. So we share a porch with the neighbor and there really isn't room for a large lock box. Also, not to sure we would be allowed to put holes in the concrete to secure the lock box to the ground.
