it looks that way because it is the United Joint. Mezz doesn't offer that model with a wavy joint and no wavy jointed shafts are piloted

it's actually a good thing because you can get reagular 5/16-14 threaded shafts to fit it. if you want to try a different aftermarket shaft no problem
