I knew there was a reason
why I have 2 shafts for my J&J Break/jump cue, and I am going to have
Bob Owens (Shurtz custon cues) put that leather tip, the one he says is almost as hard as phenolic, on one of the shafts, and leave the other shaft with a phenolic tip. That way, I can comply with BCA rules with the leather one, or use the phenolic one where it doesn't matter.
