anyone still have some laying around? I know of a few people here in town that would like to get a few but I haven't been able to find them anywhere. any help would be greatly appreciated!

He's probably looking for the real old school Westinghouse Micarta that turns orange/yellow with time. If you can find them they are often $100ish per ferrule.
Mason's micarta is not the same material at all. While I haven't tried it personally, I'm sure it's a fine product...its just not close to the same as the original.
For the real deal pm AZ'er "Hollywood" as he has access to some from Runde...I got some from him & its the legit old westinghouse for sure. You can also check with AZ'er "PDcue" as he has been a source for others in the past. Best of luck...it is indeed the finest performance ferrule ever.

Try PDcue for some of the originals. The stuff Mason has is some of the best I've used in long time.
