Offered here is a Michael Vollmer cue. It has 8 points of ebony into Birdseye maple. The cue has over 100 ivory and sterling silver inlays, all the ivory spears in the points have RAZOR sharp points. Cue as expected plays lights out, solid hit, really easy to move the ball around...

It pains me a little to sell it, but I gotta trim back the herd...

Price is $4800 OBO includes worldwide insured shipping.

Photos are here:

Vollmer cue

Very nice Vollmer cue with unique ivory inlays. Where are the silver inlays--cannot tell from the pictures. Good luck with your sale during these "tight cash money" times. I have three Vollmers in my Collection and would like to move some. Will you post the weights and shaft diameter Specs? Do you have Michael Vollmers high quality shafts & his custom joint-protectors? Best wishes, Paul Del Giudice "PVD1"

Hi Paul,

Sorry I missed your reply on this until now..

The cue only comes with one original Vollmer shaft and no custom JPs. I will happily buy some JPs for it, but they will just be cheap ones. It is hard to explain about the silver, the longer points which have the larger inlays have a sliver diamond inside, and every small inlay which almost looks like a V with two little wings below, well, the V is ivory and the two wings are silver. In the butt end, the dual diamonds inside the larger inlays are silver. When it is in the light it is stunning, very Black Boar like and there is a great contrast between the two materials.

The cue cost about about $5100 when new with the one shaft. I would go down as far as $4500 for cash, and at $4800 I would accept part exchange up to 50%. These are not that easy to come by unless you are prepared to wait for Michael to make you one.

It is hard to explain how nice this cue is in person!! And the forward balance is amazing, it encourages you to accelerate through the shot. It is an incredible feeling. If I was not set on playing with my new Randy Mobley cue, this would not be going anywhere. And if it does not sell, I may have a rethink!!

All the best
Grant

Bump just in case I cannot ship this to the States legally...

Have emailed Michael Vollmer himself for advice...

Bump, and for all my friends in the USA, I will not be sending this cue before payment is received, I am not going to be the one taking the risk that it gets nabbed by customs.

Grant, I have heard about the excellent play of Randy Mobley cues, but I surely know that the hit, feel, and performance of Vollmers I have had is second to none. Of course, I hope you can sell for ca$h, but if you sell this cue, I think you will regret the sale in the future. It would be good if you had two shafts to sell with this cue. Michael Vollmer's shafts are some of the very best, but they are expensive. Shame you do not have good photos. Best Regards, Paul.

Vollmer sale in the USA

Grant, to make the sale, you may have to accept the risk that the "cue is nabbed by Customs". Also, the buyer may require you to use an Escrow Service like the one Marcus Solt (FAST_N_LOOSE) on AZ offers. Michael Vollmer should have some information for you about working a sale through his Associate & friend here in the USA. Paul.

HI Paul,

I actually have two brand new Vollmer shafts coming to match up with this..

So I should be okay :)

I have bought way too many cues, and it is true what they say, you cannot be a dealer and a collector. I have decided I want to have a collection of 10 cues instead of 28, so I am sure I will regret selling quite a few cues over the coming months.

I am going to take some better photos this week when I am down at the pool hall. If the cue has not sold by then that is...

Cheers
Grant

I went straight to Marcus' link, and he states clearly he does not do escrow for cues with ivory if they are outside of the States.

Bump for some better photos really showing the quality of the inlay work etc... (added to my picasa page linked in the OP)

I am listing this until the weekend, if no deal is done by then, it is going to stay in my collection indefinitely...

Michael Vollmer's shafts are some of the very best, but they are expensive.

They are €250 a pop, which in Europe is only about 30 bucks more than a predator shaft. I know which I prefer to spend my money on!! If I decide to keep the cue, then I will be getting a second matching shaft for sure...

I want to buy it so make it happen.

AS I already stated, it is almost certainly traded so no longer available.

And even if the trade falls through, I am not doing the deal on the terms you have offered so far. I will ship worldwide upon receipt of payment. If you live in the States, then you have to take the risk that your customs may intercept the package. This is your risk, not mine. Anyway, probably a moot point, I think the cue is traded for a Hercek with a very nice German gent.
