Mid-America Lathes is now cuemakersupply.com

I only see repair lathes on the site

Professional Series Large Bore Cue Lathe

You can build cues on this lathe. Only thing you would probably not do is shafts because I don't know if they make taper bars for this. But with the right attachments you can make multi point cues on this.

I make shafts on mine. Harder to do for sure, but it is possible. I believe the new owner is working on a tapering system for it.

Our Pro series lathe can do everything except taper a shaft currently. We are very close to releasing a taper bar setup they will allow you to do shaft tapering, but with holiday season in full swing right now we are struggling just to keep orders shipping on time. When it is available it will be able to be retrofit onto any of our existing Pro Series machines and it will be available very soon.

It turns out they won't let you use a VPN. I don't like being connected to the internet without one anymore.
Hey Jayman, I just saw your comment. Were you ever able to get in? I am not aware of any issues when using a VPN but I can surely look into this.

I've built cues on this lathe and added a taper attachment from ebay to do butts and shaft.m it mounts in the tailsstock and you dial the taper you want , once you have your gantry dialed in. This pictures shows a tapered shank maybe m3, however they sell the 10mm straight shank which works nicely in the tailsstock

I like the idea of not having to offset the tail stock so I've looked for this, the only straight shank model I found was 12mm.

I'm probably mistaken about the shank size, i do know the straight shank only came in one size and was hard to find. This taper device worked great 12mm still fits in the drill chuck

Good point, I was thinking I would be mounting it in the tailstock in place of the shank the chuck is mounted on. Thanks

Let me ask you, do you taper your shafts and butts the same taper, i don't? Just found this taper attachment for $63 shipped to your door, on ebay
Yes I have been doing butt and shaft pro tapers this way. I am waiting to see what Cuemakersupply comes up with for a taper bar system. Would like to see a picture when you get it set up. That’s a great deal.
