Selling my dad's Professional Cue Repair Lathe with large bore head stock by Mid-America, with 48" bed and 42" of geared carriage travel. He bought it shortly before he got sick, then he passed away this fall. We paid $1,350 for the lathe, and the extras were ~$300-400. Asking $1200 obo plus shipping. This Professional Cue Repair Lathe is not designed nor is it intended to be a cue building lathe. However in the hands of a qualified and skilled technician it is capable of performing all the operations necessary to build a simple cue with the exception of making a compound shaft taper. The machine is capable of doing tips, ferrules, tenons and tenon replacement, joint collars, joint pins, ring work, butt caps, rewraps, and just about any other type of cue repair including house cues.
Professional Cue Repair Lathe with large bore headstock by Mid-America Pool. It has a 48” Bed and a 42” geared carriage travel. The large bore headstock has a 4 jaw self centering chuck and a 1.3875 inch through spindle bore. The setup includes a continuous duty ½ hp DC motor with full variable speed control, reversible rotation switch and a plug-in foot control for doing rewraps. The lathe comes with a quickset bearing steady rest, an adjustable large bore steady rest with 4 jaw self centering scroll chuck with 1.3875 inch through spindle bore. It also includes a drilling tailstock with 1/2 inch commercial drill chuck. and comes with a concave live center, 3 plastic collets for butt and joint work and nylon collets for shafts tip end and for shaft joint end, and includes the tool post with 2 1/4 inch HSS cutting bits.
There is a lot of additional tooling including several spare cutting bits all are nearly new, as well as tip shaping brace in its own tool post. There is an extra spare chuck which may need some minor repair and an extra set of replacement jaws for the chuck, several collets, maintenance drive pins, tip centering tool, carbide cutting bits and miscellaneous ferrules, tips, bumpers and other materials.
