The Midwest 9 ball tour just wrapped up their $2,500 added event at
SidePockets (part of franchised chain). It was the 3rd Bobby Wells
Memorial tournament. Evelyn and Danny Dysert were tournament directors. (always well run, kudos).
Women's 9 ball:
!) Rhonda Pierce - Tulsa
2) Cheryl Backward - Wichita (yes, she is Native American)
3) Caroline Ortiz - Topeka
Open 9 ball:
1) Jamie Baraks - Rockford, Ill. (Plays Jam up - shoots jump shots real well).
2) Steve 'Lil Steve' Rector - Wichita
3) K.C. Massey - K.C., Mo.
4) Joey Gray - Okalhoma City
(Terry Young - Wichita, and owner of Rumors here placed 5-6th, can not
remember the other guy).
James Waldon and Caleb Moore from Oklahoma City both were playing in an IPT qualifier in Tulsa and couldn't make it. They are both friends.
The Open had 56 players. Other names playing you might recognize were
Donnie Brown, Shane McMinn, Chad Vilmont, Jr. Brown, Mark Rogers, Jamie Sanders (my Pool and traveling buddy), Cobb from lincoln, ne..,
I had other commitments and couldn't play, but got to see all the matches from 5/6th place on up.
Matt and Tyler, owners of Sidepockets were their naturally ornery selves, and good hosts.
