Hi,

I have read via internet that Mika İmmonen,2001 9-ball World Champion, has an interest in 3C .Some sources claim that he took lessons from Sang Lee and visits Carom Cafe in NY to play against top players.I read an article about his participation to a carom team ,captained by Semih Saygıner and playing in Korea exhibition matches.

Any more information about his 3C Adventures and espacially his level of playing?

I wonder what attributes of 3C attracts a pool world champion?

To experiment higher tempos and spins,I mean, to go and see the limits of shotmaking,or to sharpen kicking skills for his pool game or for just playing another game for fun?

Regards,

Timur

Most likely for fun. I can't think of any pool player who would have even the slightest chance against 3C pros.

Check the link below [for pictures of Mika İmmonen playing 3C ], from cuetable library website. Wei might enlighten us with more detail.

Charlie William and Dragon Promotion handle the Korea Carom Team Exhibited with Mika İmmonen as a member.

He was at the 2007 Sang Lee International Tournament, but didn't compete.

thanks for the link. The photo in which Efren Reyes explaining a position to Duel and Immonen is nice. But I believe they do not need much assistance regarding cue ball control and shotmaking but finer points of 3C

Here a program for poolplayers that Paul Frankel and Jim Shoval are working on for players wanting to learn 3C shots or plays.

You might try this game which can be found in the book Chalk Up

Sorry I am late on this. Bob...

I use to be his "chauffeur" to Carom Cafe when he got really hooked to the game. During each visit Sang Lee would kindly give him free lessons. They became good friends. Sang used to love watching Mika playing pool as well; he had put together exhibition matches for him a few times playing straight pool.

At the time they'd play 90:30 game. Although Sang won all the games, I am guessing Mika is around 0.5 average. Not bad at all for someone who probably has made less than 300 billiards in his life... :)

... Meanwhile, he has probably made over 300,000 9 balls
