mike Dechaines cue

I had a thought about this cue during the first TAR day when Mike tried to jump a few balls right away.

What if they were trying to make a shaft taper and ferrule/tip that jumps a lot better than a regular cue? Cue could be very light also for a playing cue to help with jumping.

Since many tournaments, and I'm guessing gambling sets, make you jump with your regular cue (or break cue), working on a shaft/cue design that can jump better is not a bad idea.

Why are predator forcing a guy to "test" a prototype during a real match?

He could go bang balls around in a game that isn't in front of a paying audience IMO.

I seriously doubt this is HS first outing with the cue.

I would also have to assume that predator would want him in the spot light with a ptentional game changer.

I would guess he's played enough sets with it to think he's can with it or he would be playing with it.

I work in R&D, sendng a true prototype into the eyes of the world is pretty unheard of.

Youre correct. It wasn't the cue's fault, Shaw was/is just a lot better. Heck if Shaw didn't just 1 stroke everything i think that he could have avoided a handful of mistakes and won the first night 27 to 10 or 12. I can't speak for the second set since i didn't purchase it.

Everyone is going after the cue and not the person holding it! To play at the high level, its not the cue, its the dedication you put in at the table! I don't care what cue I play with, in an hour or 2, I'm at my level! I understand the whole thing with having a cue you like, but leave the reason mike losing due to the cue! Bottom line is this, if mike wants to play top flight pool, he's gonna have to put the time in! Yes, I beleive he can do it! But,,,, he's not, he does not have the work ethic and dedication to do it! Mike is a great local player! That's it! It's nice he's trying out cues for predator, if he's getting paid for it?!?! All power to him! He's not a champion! That comes from within, and he don't have it within him! Not yet anyway!

This basically sums it up!
