This is in regards to a kick Mike made during the Florida Open, Day 2 Full Session Table 2 @ 5:32:00. If you don't have WNTTV, then I don't know if you can view the shot. My question is what was Mike Delawder measuring that allowed him to get a good hit? Here are some screenshots:

Mike needed to hit the purple ball (the ball on the lower right nearest the corner pocket and the long rail).

Earl had no idea it was hill-hill. After the 9-ball went down, Earl pulled the balls and sat down for the next rack.

Looks like he's using reference lines that all point to the corner pocket, which is how I'd kick at this. The reference lines are as follows in short rail to long rail format: second diamond to second diamond (lots of running), third diamond to third diamond (natural running), pocket to 3.5 diamond (natural running). Using those reference lines, you can then shift and adjust angle and spin to hit the target.

Looks like in the first screenshots, he's pointed pretty close to the pocket to 3.5 diamond reference.
