Mike Lambros beyond repute…

+1!!

My experiences with Mike Lambros have been 100% positive. First of all, no cue maker, dead or alive, makes cues that play better. I've been using one of his cues for the past one and a half years approximately. I have tried and own(ed) cues that are different, and that I like or liked equally as well, but there simply is no such thing as "better" - and since I've been instructing/coaching as well as playing for over twenty years, there aren't many brands I haven't at least test-hit. They're also well-adjusted to playing on modern equipment as well as old (or new cloth as well as used) - can't say the same is true of some other great, in particular so-called "legendary" cue makers' cues. Apart from all this, I also happen to find him to be a truly sweet guy, although we've yet too meet in person, I think I've gotten to know him reasonably well via our many, often lengthy phone conversations, as well as several dealings (and yes, I can confirm he'll stand behind his product). If anything, I would not recommend contacting him via e-mail (although he'll look his mails up, he rarely replies) - give him a call instead!

Greetings from Switzerland, David.

Emails

Did you guys that email him ever think that you are not in his established mailing list, therefore your emails probably go into a 'junk' folder, and that he may not check his junk folder all the time???

Some cuemakers have a tendency to be a little eccentric ... lol

Positive post

I can speak of my experience with Lambros cues (Mike) , He has gone well beyond being helpful, even to the fact of answering questions of a Lambros cue I was looking into on the second hand market a long time ago. So that helped out alot in my choice as of now to have him build me a new cue straight from the Lambros shop for myself. I met with he and Donny last week and they were very attentive and helped me thru out the whole ordering process from the length of extention to the tips that I wanted on the shafts. He even went as far to cut veneer colors and mix and match to get an idea how it will look till I was completely happy. From my point of veiw he wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting put into the cue and that I will be satisfied. Then to address what some said poor communication it's only a 2 man shop and they are busy so I can relate that some phone calls may not get answered right away or emails some may get over looked or get directed elsewhere then incomeing mail. Im sure as long as he has been building cues there are some sour apple stories same as many other cuemakers out there, things happen and we all get upset when it happends to us. I know I am looking forward to getting my cue and im sure that there will be others in future. So one thing for sure even with the negative post in this thread it is still the fact of the playability of the Lambros cues is still there.. Keep up the good work guys  << ED

Thanks Eric, based on this thread, it looks like my next cue is gonna be a Lambros.... you just cost me another couple of grand.... Seems like he is the real deal to me based on this thread....

Maybe I'll stop at a Chik-fil-a before I pick up the cue :)

i only have one lambros cue but like many i really admire mike's cue making. while i have not had the pleasure to meet him personally, i have called him once and we spoke for about 4 or 5 minutes. the reason for my call was to say 'thanks for a great cue', but let me give you some background:

i have had experience dealing with jazznpool. i bought a carmeli from him, nothing special just a very basic cue and martin was a real pleasure to deal with, and i should also mention i loved the carmeli as i needed a "not so expensive" cue, but a great player for league as i didn't feel comfortable with an expensive cue at league as i didn't want to worry about going to buy some beers or going to the men's room and worrying about an expensive cue 'gone missing'

anyway, to make a long story short i appreciated jazznpool and i think we had another deal together also as smooth as spidy just recently said to ERIC.:

"...it'll probably come back looking like 50' tall pornstar sat on it. And that, son, is slicker than deer guts on a glass door knob!"

to continue - i appreciate folks like jazznpool and you may ask why and here is the reason coming from a me, a manufacturer. it is great to have buyers whom always give multiple PRE-orders so our manufacturing facilities are always working and this is what jazznpool does with his suppliers; i could appreciate that immensity and the benefit that goes with it

now to the point...

i have read so many threads/posts from our AZB friends who love mike's cues - i called jazznpool as he most always has them in stock as well as having 10 or more on order on spec. wow, that is a great commitment to mike [as well as his other makers] as he puts his money on the line for them as well as for buyers like me

i ordered a simple ML cue with a particular weight, etc., etc. and jazznpool took care of everything and when i received it, everything was P E R F E C T!

thanks mike and thanks jazznpool!

and like you, i am so glad i have mike's Great Cue...

all the best,
smokey
