This past weekend I traded away the Schon STL-7 I've been playing with for about a year for a Mike Neal cue. I've been trying to find some information on these cues online and haven't been able to come across anything. The only information I've been able to find has come from the Blue Book.

If anyone knows anything about these cues or where I could find some good information it would be great.

I'm extremly happy with the cue and think the trade was an amazing deal, but I'd like more background info on Mike Neal and his cues.

Also, being that this cue is 60in., it doesn't fit right in my current case (by Crystal Leisure), so if anyone knows which cases this cue would fit better in, let me know.

Thanks in advance.

I dont know exactly what cases but the higher end cases Whitten, Jack Justis, etc. etc. usually accomadate a 60" cue or have them make you a case..........:)

Good call. I think Instroke will also take a 60" cue but I could be wrong.

porper makes a case that will hold extra long cues they sell it at mueller.Instroke will hold a 60 inch cue to ands so will tailsman cases.

I have done alot of research in this area as I personally like how 60 inch cues play.

The cheapest alternative is a Giuseppe case as nearly ALL their cases will hold a 60" cue with joint protectors even in most instances.

Good prices are there at Seyberts...but if you want a deal on one, PM a guy named "jazznpool" on here and he can hook you up with a Giuseppe.

Instrokes fit a 62" cue by default. Whitten's will have to be custom ordered to fit a longer cue, however. Justis will fit 62" cues if I am not mistaken and Talisman 64". You can, of course, order a custom length case from any of the custom case makers.

Giuseppe cases are the biggest piece of crap cases I've ever seen, no offense to those who own them or like them. Instroke will hold 60's, Justis will make extra long cases, but it's a tight fit if you have a joint protector, I'm not sure if the new prolite cases are any different. Stay clear of those cardboard piece of crap cases IMO.

Mike Neal cues

Mike lives in Lincoln, NE and has been building cues for a few years now. He always has a repair booth set up at the local tournaments. I have never shot with one but have seen numerous ones he has on display to sell at the booth. The "zipper cue" that is in the Blue Book is pretty cool in person.

I don't know him personally but have shot against him in leagues a few times over the years. For more info on him, you might give Tom Madsen at TomsQStix a call. Tom sells Mikes' cues at his pool hall. (402) 466-6078

I, a few months ago, bought the Action Elite Eln35 3 x 5 case, and am very happy with it. I bought it on Pooldawg.com for 79.20 with free
shipping. It is a soft/hard case with tubes, spring loaded butts, and it can handle a 60" cue with no problem, and probably JP's too. (shafts for sure, butts might be questionable for JP's). It also has a seperate jump butt pocket, good rubber handle, and padded wide shoulder strap. It is a real
good buy. Some sell on Ebay as well as a 2 x 4 model too, but you will be hard pressed to get a better deal than Pooldawg.com.

I just took a few pics of my Mike Neal and thought I would post them up. They aren't the best pics being from my phone and all, but they'll do for now.

The cue is Bird's Eye Maple with Amazon Rosewood points and butt, real brass rings, a stacked leather wrap, and a Predator 314 shaft.

Oh, and I finally found a decent case, for now, that it'll fit in. lol.

Enjoy.
