Mike Sigel using the bridge. Anyone else notice or do this?

Was watching the IPT LJJ and MS match the other day and noticed that when Mike Sigel uses the bridge, his bridgehand is not the hand holding the bridge. He hits the cueball using his bridgehand. I thought this was odd, most players I have seen hold the bridge with the bridgehand.

Anyone else do this?

I do it also.


I am naturally right handed but I shoot left-handed.......


When I use a bridge I hold the bridge with my left hand and my cue with my right hand.......cant explain why...........

Sigel is a natural right-hander.

When Mike S. first took up the game, he actually thought that he was playing pool right handed because he was making his bridge with his right hand.

Same for me, it's an eye thing

I also use the bridge the same way. It probably has to do with me being naturaly right handed but my left eye is my dominate eye. I write, throw a baseball, darts, swing a bat, bowl and many other things right handed but shoot a gun, bow, and pool left handed.

It was kinda funny how I found this out. When I was a kid I got a bow for Christmas one year. When I went to get it sighted in and all set up I was aiming just like they told me to but was shooting off to the side everytime. But the thing was, my shots were all consistently in the same area. We spent about 45 minutes with them telling me that I was not listening to what they were telling me to do, and they were getting very frustrated with me, before a guy at the store told me to do this trick to see which is your dominate eye and low and behold, it was my left. Ten minutes later I had a left handed bow and was consistently putting them close to the bull. The best part had to be when I got to look at all the grown ups and say see, I told you I was doing what you told me to do. LOL

There are a few of us odd balls out there. It has worked out a few times betting against people that know I am right handed but make me agree to shoot with my left. LOL The thing that gets me is why I can't hardly even hold a cue right handed without making an a** out of myself. Been working at it, getting better, but have a longggggggggg way to go.

LOL, I thought the same thing. I probably played pool a good 6 mo or so until I found out that I was doing it "wrong". Someone mentioned to me about being a lefty & I looked at them like they had 3 eyes. I'm so dominantly right handed that I can't form a bridge with my left hand. I play left handed, aim with my right eye, and hold the bridge with my left hand.
