Mikkelsen Cue

How can the cue be one of a kind when there is also one identical to it on Mikkelsen's web site?

Perhaps Esquared = Mikkelson?

Or Esquared purchased the cue and is reselling it, or is selling it for Mikkelson (in which case the cue just hasn't been removed from the "for sale" section yet).

Either way, it seems like a nice enough cue....but $2500 seems a "bit" steep for a cue coming from a relatively unknown builder. Personally I wouldn't go as high as the current eBay bid for a cue from someone whose work I've never seen (or even heard about). He may make a great cue, but it's not worth that much to me to find out.

New Mikkelsen for sale on eBay . You may remember this cue from before, price has been reduced and better pics are up. Mikkelsen Cues website has also been completely updated.
Why does he make the shafts so small,is he a former snooker player?

I am helping Bernie out with auction and the website. You are right that the cue on the website is the same as the one on eBay. If you want to spend full retail on the cue I will end the auction for you early ;)

You may not have heard of Mikkelsen before but he has been making cues for 10 years. He has never made a huge effort to market his cues other than through word of mouth. Most of the top players in our area, including local pro's, are now using Mikkelsens.

The price may seem high, but every single spear is done by hand. So, when you start spending hundreds of hours on a cue it is tough to sell it for a lot less. There are many simpler designs and styles available in a lower price range, this is one of Bernie's higher end cues. Just to clarify, the price on eBay is in US dollars and the website is Canadian dollars.

Anyhow, thanks for looking.
Have a great day
Eric

Sorry, but that is one of the ugliest cues I have ever seen.

Good luck with the auction............

The smaller tip size is part of the design to allow the cue to give less deflection. You can read more about Bernie's design properties here
Hope that provides you with some food for thought.
