Mini-Demo: for what it's worth

I'd say I've made at least 50% improvement in just a matter of a few months.

You can get an idea of my shot-making ability back on Dec. 7, 2025 in this video:

You can compare it to this video from today, Mar. 4, 2026:

The video from today, Mar. 4, 2026:
It's sort of obvious where these 7 clips are spliced together
A 4-ball run, 5-ball run, 3-ball run, 5-ball run, 2-ball run, 2-ball run, 4-ball run
Just the shots where the cue ball follows the object ball cleanly into the pocket, pretty much.

I noticed I'm coincidentally wearing the same clothes in both videos.
You can tell they are from different times by my belongings on the table and chairs in the background.

I know what I need to do.
Just need a month more to make a big leap forward.

We can all see.
But do you know what you're looking at?

In the videos you mean? Looks like you can now cinch following that shot dead on line. Do you know what that means?
I don't.

I also don't like stabbing it with inside english. It deflects slightly and then grabs onto the OB once you have the alignment burned in. It's a Goldberg way of creating the effect (of CB OB congruence) IMO. It's also not a good way to improve your shotmaking. A better pursuit would be to simply throw the balls (all of 'em) out and shooting them back in making sure they go like you saw.

High there good buddy.
In the game of pool. Like Gorst said when he was asked how he aims: "I just see the shot."
That's it. Plain and simple. When the balls are lying on the table, everyone who passes by can see.
And they see exactly the same thing. The balls lying on the table.
But the focus of pool is making the balls and running out.
Some can run out and others can't.
They can't because even though they can see,
they don't know what they're looking at.
now they may say, oh, i know how to make that shot.
and they go on and on.
But they miss the shot. How come.
because they don't know what they're looking at.
that's the bottom line.

i said that i know what i am still doing wrong. and it is significant.
but i know how to approach it and believe i will solve the biggest problem,
maybe, in as little as one months time.

now, as far as "cinching" that straight-in shot of some distance, what it shows is some
shot making consistency because i know what i am doing. i know what i'm doing right.
and i know what i am still doing wrong.
It's an iterative process. there is a lot going on and i'm a slow learner.
good grief.

why this shot is important: because this shot is the foundation of all shots.
it requires seeing the shot and sending the cue ball straight to the target.
even if you are faced with a cut-shot, it is still a straight in shot.
the cue ball must be sent straight to the target.
all shots are basically straight-in shots.
all cut shots are straight-in shots.
only the infrequent "straight-in shot" allows the shooter to align on a real object ball on
a straight line from cue ball to object ball to pocket.
but all other shots not counting jump or masse, are cut shots.
a cut shot is a straight-in shot. it is a classic straight-in shot
to a ghost ball. ghost ball or object ball: same thing.
if i can see the ghost ball, i have a good chance of making the shot.
a good chance of making that straight in shot.
that is why this bonehead shot is important.

could you give more detail so others can learn from your knowledge?

One big question about the big letters. Fedyorovskayanenko shoots EVERYTHING with that long wind up and smooth slow stroke. Not at all what you are doing. You eventually have to undo undo that (what you are doing) unless you plan to shoot everything that way which IMO will not work.

big question ---- ?

i can't easily figure out what you mean more often than not: you must mean something with your emphasis using big bold letters in your reply. i never used big bold letters.

i said that i am admittingly still doing somethings wrong even as i have improved doing more things right now. you can see the improvement in my shot-making ability/consistency from the video on Dec. 7, 2025. anyone can see this in action comparing it with the current Mar. 4 video. also compare what i am doing now with what the top pros do and you can see the difference for yourself. you don't need me to point it out.

i believe in a month or so, i expect to have solved my one huge problem. i will post another mini-demo at that time and all will see the results. it isn't rocket science but it does take some insight, understanding, and ingenuity. but most of all: common sense. and these things take time. especially for a slow learner like myself. until then. bye...

I took out the bulk of the post so it would the highlighted part would show in my post.
Point there is you cited Gorst's aim claim but missed the fact that it's his no nonsense stroke that makes all his shots. You gotta be able to shoot what you "see" and that's why that bonehead shot, uh, misses.

"and that's why that bonehead shot, uh, misses."

your intent is clear: you disagree.
but your asserted support for your disagreement is not a logical basis for your disagreement.

I am able to shoot what i see. you see me making the shot, straight in followed by the cue ball straight in.
repeatedly with 5,4,3, and 2-ball runs showing some ability and consistency.
but if you're agin it, you're agin it.
what's troubling is that you saw the video.
proof that you can see but can't tell or know what you are seeing.
go figure.

Sometimes I feel like I am reading posts from "The Real Housewives of AZ Billiards".

You did not answer my post #4 and #5
You can send me a private message if you want
I dont want to assume i am or am not seeing what i am supposed to
Or know how to approach it
I would like to know for sure

Like I said, you are able to cinch that shot. Like the other Johnson said, the stroke sucks. Your delivery and the method of your delivery just go further down your personal rabbit hole. That's what misses.

Is this a joke, or are you blind in one eye or something? Why are you lined up in both videos where it looks like you are not even going to hit the object ball, and then your stick jerks sideways mid-stroke to make somewhat of a straight hit?

What am i doing here in my attached photo?
and what am i doing in my videos?
or should i say, not doing.

I can see it. I know what i am doing: right and wrong.
And i know you can see it as well.

the pros have perfected their technique.
I like this particular pro video as a great example.
solid stance
Perfect alignment.
perfect control of their body.
which demonstrates perfect control of their mind.
at least approaching perfection as much as humanly possible.
