Mini Mania at APA Nationals

Got a quick question about the Mini tournaments at APA Nationals. I've never played in an APA 9ball league before. Could I still play in the 9ball minis out there?? Thanks in advance.
 
I was told you could still play in 9 ball minis as long as you have an established 8 ball handicap. I heard they move you up one level for nine ball. This will be my first trip to nationals so hopefully I heard right.
 
Thanks for the response. I dont care what they move me up to in 9, just as long as I can play....

You are moved up one unless you are a SL7, then you play as a SL9 in 9 ball.
 
Yeah I think that is the way it was when I played a few years ago. I might drive over to watch some matches a play a few minis. Haven't fully decided yet.
