Hello All,
Has there been a big tournaments where players compete in pool and other games to win main event; games such as Chess, foosball, poker, cards...etc or even coin flip!

Reason i am asking is at one local pool tournament, notice many of the players do not want to join because very advanced players playing, and their chances of wining is slim, even if it is handicapped.

Thanks for any info.

Many of the pool games I see are mixed in with some sort of drinking game ;)

Those players that don't want to play need to let go of their ego and practice and learn to play when they lose, or they need to make the handicaps more even.

Adding another game won't help the lesser-player.

Good pool players are competitive and will learn/practice any game you challenge them with: chess, checkers, cards, tiddely-winks, etc.

If you compete at a high level, you compete to win.

There's one place locally that handles the top players by making their handicap so large almost none of them gets past the third match.

Something like 7 games to 2 games - against a B player.

The pool hall should have a regular ring game with barrels, specifically for the top players, who are banned from regular competitive tournaments.

Many years ago a good friend put on a yearly charity tennis tournament (he and his siblings; all semi-pro tennis players). You bet $500 to play one of them...the kicker was that you got to choose their "wearable" handicap.

You could make them wear big, floppy galoshes or flip-flops; make them carry a bucket with about 5 lbs of water in it or a plant pot of flowers; etc.

One set, race to five. They never lost a set. It was fun to watch, but even more - it was amazing to see them make shots.
