Mizerak pool table cushions

Hi, I have a customer with a Mizerak Essex 3pc slate table that I need to get a set of cushions for. The cushion measures 13/16ths from the base to the tip of the cushion. Normally I would not even bother with it but it is for a local Sheriff so I am going to do what I can for him. I haven't called Sears yet but my searches online have come up with nothing so far. The cushion looks like a mini k66 to me. Thanks for any help.

Isn't Mizerak tables distributed through Escalade Sports? They may be able to fix you up.

Maybe U-56 cushions? are they flat? try a google on U-56 cushions and check it out, possibility.

If they are angled maybe they are U-23 cushions (.90 inch, a bit smaller than K-66), google that too and take a look.

you might want to keep a set of k55, k66 and u23 on hand and see what one will give you the correct hieght. be careful you my find that subrail is MDF.

Maybe check U-23 cushions also. I've seen two different profile dimensions for U-23 though. One was 1" and the other was .909" ?

Thanks for the replies. I will try Escalade sports and Sears tommorow. I have tried the u-23, u-56 or centennial, k66 and k55s all are WAY too big. They are in fact MDF as I recovered it on Tuesday for a July 4th party they are having this weekend.

I get suckered into 3 or 4 of these a year and half of them have the u56s which are easy to find the others have these mini k66s or mini u23s that are a S.O.B. to find. I always tell them these tables are not worth putting that kind of money into but I am a softie for a " it's been in the family forever and we would rather repair it than replace it" story.OK then I say and I charge full price and them some for the re-cloth and/or re-cushion and they still want it done so instead of hurting peoples feelings about their table which I have done before I just do them if I am not too busy.

These cushions make the u23s look like k55s, they really are that small.

Hey Bob.... How did you make out with the rails?

Bob, If you can't get then from Escalade or Sears. You may find them at J&J cues. They are an importer in CA. I'm like you I run into at least one or two of these halfbreeds a year. I was unable to get them anywhere and was even running U23's through my band saw to cut them down. And I found some at J&J. I don't know if they still handle them but it's worth a try. Let us know what you find out.

I was unsucessful in my attempt to find these cushions. Nobody has them, Escalade said before they could even try to help they needed the sieral numbers of the frame and rails and I dont have that info and until they call me back to do it(they may never call) I wont be able to get them.

Pat, the tables in the email look really nice

Hi, I will be giving another estimate for one of these on Weds. They were not scared away with an inflated estimate and of course it has to be saved.pics Weds night.

I have an answer, recut the sub-rail bevel to adapt a more normal cushion like Accufast, then throw away the old cushions, then charge for the new cushions and labor to modify the sub-rails;)

Well here it is  , It is a Sears and Roebuck , yr 1971 . The cushions on it are still good, non-slate table. I am just going to move it,recloth it and replace the pocket liners and they are fine with that. Summer is somewhat a slow time, the perfect time to do these type of tables.

The next time I do one that does need new cushions I will install a newer style cushion by modifying the subrail angle, most likely to a u56 or u23.

cool, it will look so great when your done with it

well... it will look a lot better to them anyway. Overall the tables in good shape, it's been in the family for twenty years, I suggested replacing with a slate top table but they did not want to spend that kind of money so I quoted $500 for a 10 mile move,a re-cloth and new pocket liners.

They can be a nightmare to work on for sure but there are just too many of them out there for me to not work on them at all.
