While I'm not a fan of elephant ear wraps (just me...), I do agree that the high shine of a lot of lizard wraps can detract from the look of a cue. You have to be careful of where you draw the eyes and for a cue like this that has so much to offer, it's a shame to bring too much attention to the wrap. Better to choose something more subtle, that lets the whole piece work together... Then you get to pick up all the surprises as your eyes go along.

btw - I saw a stingray wrap on a cue by Marcus Dienst (sp?) at the ICCS show in KC a few years back. It looked awesome. Felt a bit on the order of elephant (bit smoother), and I understand the stuff is nearly indestructable (and thus VERY hard to install properly).

there is very little black in this cue compared brown, a black wrap just wont do.

I think brown elephant ear or a reddish brown ring tail lizard is the best option! it will let the cue flow and wont break up the over all design with a large dark contrasting wrap. IMO

Hey Tommy, I like your cue a lot. I'm sure my Mobley will be nice also. Randy is a great craftsman.

Tommy, cue looks fantastic.

My vote was for the black lizard. I think it will make all colors in the cue just jump out at you. I think brown would do just the opposite.

Talk to you soon,

Black for sure...it just brings more color to the points and butt as stated previously...

I bought that JMW cue you have new back in 2005. Great cue I loved the way it looked (snakewood) and played just was a little light for me.
Don't see many like this.

Thanks........Paul
