I'm gonna be moving to the modesto area in November. What's the word on pool rooms in this area? I was there Thursday looking at apartments and I went by break time billiards at around 1:30 but they were closed(are they still in business?) Any other rooms in the area? I'm a c/c+ player like cheap action and bigger action at times (when I get big bonuses lol, Christmas/back to school)

What Art said here.

There is 7 valley bar boxes, all simonis 860. 24 big tables, all rebco, one Gold Crown 2 with 4" pockets, just reworked with rubber and cloth. again all simonis 860. One 10 foot Carom table, and one 10 foot snooker table, with tightened pockets for golf.

Tuesday night league is in house, big payouts. Monday and Tuesday are geared more towards fun competition, all around great leagues at a great hall.

Thursday night big table 9 ball tournament, handicapped with speed ratings.

Last Saturday of the month they have a BCA 8 ball tournament, good turnout every time.

As Art said, action can he found, I'm always up for a few sets if anything.

Oh, last but not least, great rates on table time, (especially monday, $8 all you can play all day) and awesome food.

Break Time is kinda a sleeze-hole, great diamond tables, but everything else is shady about that place. That's just my personal preference though from my last fees years of play there.

Stay puff, is the area near break time the hood? Lol just asking because I was looking at a cheap apartment near there. I'd heard break time was the players' room in modesto

Not necessarily that bad, but it is a rougher part of town.

It used to be a players room, big time until the owner ran it to the ground, and swindled everyone that walked in.

Not only because I frequent Diamond, and am close with the Owners, but it's the best room you're gonna find if you want to stay central valley. You won't be disappointed.

I forgot to ask, what area are you moving from?

Breaktime has by far the best tables in Modesto. Stop by and say hi to Joe.
