Monarch cushions

I’m not sure I wanna go that route . Like to keep it as close original as possible . When family comes over and plays it’s pretty enjoyable with these pocket sizes . Maybe this is way it supposed to play but just got used to the cushions and speed olhausen table I had before I picked up this beauty !!!

problem is new rails are different profile. table will play different. not huge difference, you have to decide how you want it to play.

You might also look at the CPBA cloth. I put that on two Valleys this last year, and it was quite a bit faster than the 860HR on my own table. Stretch index was lower though, so don't just use the same as the Simonis, measure.

Using faster cloth, to compensate for poor cushion response, is a poor band-aid solution. You're just swapping one problem for another. It will just make it that much more difficult to adapt to other tables that you may play on.

I have decided to just have my table mechanic that has done numerous gold crown restoration for over 20 years put new cushions on my gold crown 2 . I was just trying keep this as original as possible because it has sit in the same home since day it was purchased 50 years ago and only recovered twice . Maybe this is way monarch cushions play . Not sure but I fully trust Jim to do the work . Thanks for all the replies though

I would ask him what he is planning to do with regard to the cushion replacement. If you don't like the answer, you couldl always ship the rails to a mechanic familiar with the process. Where are you located?
