Starting next Monday, January 5th we are trying to get a weekly 9-ball tournament going. This is a handicapped event. Please come out and tell all your friends. Details below.
*7:45 PM start time.
*$10 entry. $2 from each entry will go into the break contest. The pot will roll over to next week if no one wins. Three names will be drawn at random and each will get two attempts.
*TX express rules.
*9ft Brunswick gold crown III tables with Green Simonis 860 cloth.
*Brunswick Centennial balls with red circle cue ball.
*Handicaps based on established APA 8-ball rating. TAP, BCA and all other players handicaps will be determined by the tournament director.
*Races based on handicaps. There will be a chart to illustrate the level of each handicap. To give you an idea, the most extreme handicap is a (2 vs. 8. The 2 will get the 7,8 ball and breaks and must win 2 games to win. The 8 must get to 5 games to win). A (2 vs. a 2 will play even, but the race is to 2 games). (6,7 & 8's will race to 5, should they play an equal opponent).
*Payout to %25 of total field.

what if i dont play league or anything? how will my handicap be determined?
All handicaps will be determined by the T.D. APA league standing will be the basis. All others will be addressed according to the T.D.'s judgment.

Will the handicaps be games on the wire or ball spots?
Races will be determined by handicaps, or the T.D. Number of games to win and ball spots depending on the match up. See chart below.

No, the Thurs tournament is not being replaced. Would like to see more people come out to play.

If your not too busy watching the Longhorns win the Fiesta bowl, why not come out and play? :D

I might be there....if I can get off of work....I only worked because I forgot the Fiesta Bowl was today! ahhh!!!!!!

bump

I'll be there, probably with one or two others. I like the fact that it's handicapped--I might actually be able to win a match! bump for what will hopefully be the start of a great weekly tournament.

Thanks to those who came out and helped get it started off. We had only 9 players, but since this is the first event and it conflicted with the Fiesta bowl, I'm sure we will see better turnouts. Unfortunately my car was not running so I did not make it. But I will be there next week. Congratulations to Joe Wright. He snapped off the first event. I'm not sure if he will remain a 5, but we will see. Only 2 places were paid, but here are the top 4 finishers.

1st - Joe Wright(5) Also won the break pot.
2nd - Rick Stanley(8)
3rd - Heather Pulford(6)
4th - Bonnie Plowman(6)

Please feel free to PM me with feedback. I would like to know what you like and dislike to help make this event bigger and better.

There is also a good weekly tournament at Clicks South on Oltorf on Sundays.

Alternates between 8 and 9-ball every Sunday at 7.

Race to 5 on winners/ 4 on losers. Alternating Break.

Bar matches %50 of pot-- sometimes more.

$7 entry fee.

Clicks South is also having their first monthly tournament Nov. 28th and 29th (fri-sat).

There should be more to come every month

9 ball -- 3 foul rule in effect -- Race to 7/5 (tentatively) -- Alternating Break

I'm pretty sure this will be %100 payout -- no green fees

$50 entry fee.
