I recently played GOLF at Kapalua in Maui...it was $225 for 4 1/2 hours. Came to $50 an hour......ouch!!!!

Never did get the Golf thing. People dressing in Fully Colors they would not normally be caught dead in.

Paying Big Bucks to chase a little with ball, they keep hitting. Understand it was named Golf was given the game, as all the other BAD FOUR LETTER WORDS were already taken.

Understand the Green Fees at the Famous Monterey California Area Golf Course, Pebble Beach is like $450.00-$500.00/round, and only if you are a guest at their lodge.

Think you might have got away cheap paying only $225/Round at Kapalua in Maui. :)

No...you're behind the times. Golfers dress real cool now, not like the old days. Earl, Johnny, and Corey dress like golfers all the time.

I could never see those skin tight nut busting suits that bicyclists wear with those spandex drawers riding up the crack of your ass and a helmet that looks like it came out of Captain Marvel comic books.

Golf and pool have a very similar concept and bottom line. Knock a ball in an hole. That's it in a nutshell...

You're right Pebble Beach is almost double the cost now. I won't be playing there. Believe it or not, I tried about 3 years ago when the fees were $350 and I couldn't even get on. Every single tee time was booked and everyone already had four players!!! Add THAT money up for a full days profits with a group going off every 8 minutes from dawn, day in and day out.

We have it pretty good here in Columbia, MO. We pay $3.50, $6.50 and $7.50 for 1, 2 and 3+ players an hour. One of the poolhalls has 12 older GCIIs and the other has 11 brand new GCIVs with new Simonis cloth! Very fast, very sweet!!

I know how good we got it here but believe it or not there are still people who bitch about how much table time costs.

Here in the Philippines its 40 Pesos to 80 Pesos an Hour,
that's US .75 cents to US $ 1.50 .

Lucky Us. :p

Well those Spandex Shorts serve a purpose, and the helmets have saved my Melon on more than one occasion during a CRASH. Guess you have to be a Rider to understand, just like you have to be a Golfer to understand.

But I know one thing for sure, I can get Golfers in Golf carts to take notice of me when I BUZZ past them on my Bicycle at 34 MPH pedding my A** off, when their little Golf Carts are governed at 25 MPH… :p

Yeah...but you don't have enough room on the back of your bike to place a huge cooler of ice cold beer or a side seat for a hottie to ride along while you're playing.

It usually costs $8 to $12 per table per hour in the Atlanta area. There are a few lower and a few higher but the average nicer places charge in that price range.

I live in a sea of corn, in rural Indiana. The Eagles club, a block and a half away from home, has a 9' antique Brunswick. The VFW, about a mile away also has one. At both places the table time is free. The Eagles has great cloth the rails are a little squirrely though. The VFW's plays great, but has slower cloth. I usually spend Sat. afternoons at the VFW. If anyone here is from Indiana, PM me and I'll give you directions to either one.

Well i think i am kinda fortunate, i live in Holland, Mi and theres techically 3 pool halls.

Golden 8 Ball, where i frequent its 2$ per hour/per person and on weds i think they still have the special 5$ from 5pm to close. No alcohol, they have food, pingpong, video games, boardgames, music-25cents per play, and the usual cue repairs too.

I believe they have 8- 7footers, 2- 8footers, and 6 9footers.

I like shooting here cuz it has the old pool hall feeling, and has been around for yrs too.

Q-Stick, i only shoot there during the free tournaments basically cuz everything is pricey, its 8$ per hour doesnt matter how many people at your table. They have music, its 50cents per play and if you browse the songs its another 50cents. No alcohol, they have food n drinks i believe, and cue repairs.

I dont like the atmospheir because, its alot of young kids, who think they are this n that, and its kinda ghetto lol. plus it just doesnt have that pool hall feeling .

Guppies- Its a new place that just open'd havent been there, but its suppose to have about 17 tables 7foot valleys, and 9 foot diamonds.

Its connected to a restaurant and has a bar in it too, so it does have Alcohol, i heard they was going to charge 3$ per hour, but not sure.

The best thing for regular players to do is ask their local poolroom to do a monthly membership.

For example, I work near Napa, CA where the local hall charges $5/hr per person. Four kids came in and got a table and I had to explain to them that the two waiting to play the next game should get their own table because they were paying 10/hr total just to watch. $20 an hour for a table with fake Simonis is ridiculous. I have to drive thirty minutes, but for only $35 a month I can play pool, snooker, and billiards at Buffalo Billiards is Cotati until 7pm every day as a member of their "Mosconi" club. You also get 50% off time after 7pm. Some people play for hours every day so they are paying less than a dollar an hour.

College billiards in San Diego charges 50-60 a month for weekdays until 6 pm memberships. I believe in Monterey, CA you can either pay 10/hr or 75 a month. For any serious player who works on his game, this saves you hundreds of dollars.

In Austin, TX I used to play at Eric's and they only charged a couple bucks to play until 6 pm. Nice hall with snooker and billiards. I believe the Click's chain has a daily special as well.

Good luck to those who live in $8 an hour and up areas. At those prices, you might as well take up golf because you're paying just as much.

I think golf still a lot more

Sorry Bud but golf is still way more expensive than pool. Always has been and always will be. That is why I learned pool years ago instead of golf. It was way too expensive for me. Even if you can find a round of golf for 40 bucks a round(walking) that is 8 bucks an hour for you. In pool 8 bucks an hour is split so 5 hours would cost only 20. Golf is not split fees.
Prices at Fast Eddys in Capitola, Ca. (Santa Cruz county)

Day til 6:30 is $7.20 for two or more
Night til 2 a.m. $8.40 an hour two or more
Weekend nights $8.90 an hour two or more
single players at night $6.00 an hour
regular vip daytime players $2.00 an hour til 6:30

I have found if you keep your prices about the same as the cost of going to a movie per hour you are within the local economy and what is affordable.
However people do complain no matter what.
Two people going to a movie for 16 to 17 bucks can also play pool for two hours. But our snacks are much cheaper, plus cold beer.

I play out of the Cue Club in Edmonton, Ab,Ca. It cost $5.00/Hr per table during the day, $8.00 Evenings, except on Tuesdays when its $2.99 from 7pm to Closing. We don't complain much, we have decent tables with lots of free practice time on tourny nights(thurs, fri, sat, sun) and the staff is awesome. I'd say we have it okay.

Please let me know what you think about this place when you go there. They were talking about it when I was at the Golden 8ball last time, and Dirk said that it was going to be a really nice place, and all top notch Diamond tables w/simonis. Thanks in advance.

I just went to Northern MD and they were charging 2.50/ hr per player. Suhweet!
