I am a long-time player, and have always installed my own tips. I have done some testing to see if I can fix this problem, but I can't, and I need some help.
When I first put on a Moori, the useable off-center hit of the cueball increases from the norm, and as I play with it it decreases. After about two weeks, the spin capability is not just back to normal, it is sub-standard.
I have tried the following techniques:
--Using a razor trimmer to cut tip instead of trimming on a lathe.
--Using slower lower heat shaping methods.
--applying a bit of water on a paper towel to moisten the tip a little. used varied amounts.
--treating with light oil....
Gotta go in a rush, if anyone here knows of any fixes, please let me know....
