Mosconi 2026 and Orlando

Just picked up tickets for all 4 days of Mosconi, flight, and hotel (bit the bullet to stay in Caribe Royale). I could hear my wallet crying quietly on the other side of the room. Really excited. Sitting on the Euro side all 4 days (I'm neutral and just want to see good pool).

Questions for people in the know:
- Are there other small events surrounding Mosconi? (meet and greets, vendor events, etc)
- Is there a decent pool hall nearby to play at when they inevitably cut days short because the Americans are getting slaughtered?
- Anything else to know?
 
Enjoy the Cup and visit. I'll only add that Orlando traffic is not good for one's blood pressure, and it may be hot even in Nov-Dec. Hopefully some locals chime in regarding rooms within a reasonable drive; I don't get over there often enough to know.

Oh I'd be the best Mosconi Cup player. I'd lose every match gloriously but be cracking jokes and talking ish the whole time, making it entertaining. Anyone can miss a ball then go sit down and look dejected. Any time I missed I'd just bark at the crowd, "Oh like you could do better!" or "I know! I suck! The check is still gonna clear though!"

Karl Boyes has run a little mini-tournament after the Mosconi finishes, I think the last two years. It's the American fans against the Euro fans, winner take all (which is still nothing). I messaged him that he should run it before, and the top American should play the top European as one of the actual Mosconi matches. It would be wildly entertaining.

That's just great... how in the world did I miss this 2 years ago? That would have been fun to watch as well
 
I really wanted to go this year. But having it start the day after Thanksgiving is just completely untenable for me. I'm actually quite shocked at the timing, although I understand it probably allows for much more attractive venue pricing.

Actually, no.

Thanksgiving is a hugely popular time to visit Orlando. Pricing reflects that.

I honestly don't understand the timing either. Maybe scheduling with other international events?

Holiday weekend, so I guess it makes sense. "Hey, all, let's go to Disney World for Thanksgiving this year!"

They really should hold the MC a week later. I'm not going to be able to convince extended family to all go convene in Florida for Thanksgiving, and I can't really give up the once a year I get to see lots of folks.
