Mosconi Cup 2010!

I am not sure Shuff would even be in the vote, last year the popular vote came down to who the public chose from the next 6 or 8 from the BCA Rankings List. From the rankings I see, even if he won Turning Stone and and everyone else went out in the first round he couldn't accumulate enough points to even be in contention for a place. Not sure if the US Open counts this year, I don't believe it did last, but stand to be corrected, Shuff would have to win that too. Thats a tall task for anyone doesn't matter how good anyones playing thats tough. From what I see the top 4 in the rankings with adj totals at the moment are:

Johnny Archer 446.5
Rodney Morris 418.1
SVB 354.0
Coery Duell 318.5

I think the 11th ranked US player is Kim Davenport with 201.5

Shuff has a total of 45.0[/QUOTE/]

ok we get the point of how im not "eligible" or whatever or on the tops in the BCA list, I will play in every BCA event from here on out now that you are bashing me in a nice way. I know you mean no harm, its cool. but like I said, it still doesnt hurt to root for someone with a worthy reputation. Wild card! however, maybe you could be wrong on how all of it works. but regardless what anyone says. I stand strong. thanks again:thumbup:

I remember reading somewhere (OMG it's a bummer getting old) that the MVP from the previous year would get an automatic invite. That would be the 4th spot and still leave a 5th open for the 'Fan Vote'.

I guess that means you'll just have to go out and place in the top 2 spots in both Turning Stone and US Open Brandon

I never heard of that and am fairly certain that was not the case last year. However, if true, I seriously doubt Matchroom Sports will give up their own wild card pick.

You are of course right I believe in your assumption, I have absolutely no doubt Matchroom will not give up their own Wild Card and I don't blame them for that. I know Barry Hearn loves all cuesports games and wants to do what he can to promote them but, it's about ratings and sponsorship as much as anything. Without out that they cannot make money and after all Matchroom is ultimately a business.

It's hugely important for them to have all the best and most well known players on both teams. What we, everyone who loves this game, must do is support this event to the best of our ability. It doesn't matter if it's attending whenever possible, watching the broadcasts or e-mailing Matchroom during and after the event to let them know how much we appreciate the Cup it all helps. The more we can draw Matchroom into Pool the better I think, Pool in general needs strong leadership and I'm sure nobody doubts the strenght of Barry Hearns leadership or his passion.

The wider the audience the better lets get people involved, it's 'The Competition' all the players will tell you that. It's about pride and playing for your country, OMG it's us against the Europeans. We'd love to win it again against a very highly talented and competitive European team but what's just as important is that it can install some passion back into this game, maybe even to some current non Pool people!

^ a good attitude is sooo important, talent, persistence and determination along with never being satisfied will go a long way...

best of luck to you and hope to do battle with you someday

I’d like to add to the support for Brandon Shuff as a member of the Mosconi Cup team. I’ve seen him play many times and Brandon is a fearless and stunning shot-maker. Equally important, he is a class act who conducts himself with dignity and sportsmanship.
