They've finally updated the official Mosconi Cup website with confirmation it will be held in Las Vegas in 2005, at the MGM Grand. (Same location as 2003.)

Time to start planning your trips people and maybe some kind of AZB West Coast event to go with it. I was there in 2003 and it was great fun. Even though Team Europe finally lost in the end I did get to beat Bob Jewett at one game of 9 Ball in heated after-hours action ;-)

Looks like I'll be making my 4th trip to Vegas this year. It'll be well worth it, even with gas prices as they are!

And you'll have another shot at me. I'll be there starting Wednesday evening for the opening banquet.

Great, bring your cue and don't forget your ferrule this time, I think that's what was holding you back ;-)

What are the exact dates of play?
Are there any times yet for sessions or general ideas?

I saw the package prices but what are the session prices without the package?
ANyone know or is there a website other than this one that has more information.

Who has been in the past? Wondering if the VIP seats are worth it or if there
are any?

I plan on trying to make this one. The last one was too close to x-mas.

Play is Thursday 15th through to Sunday 18th December. Mr. Jewett apparently is in the "in" crowd and mentioned a banquet on Wednesday night, but us mere ferruled mortals would not know about such things.

Sessions start at 11am and conclude around 4pm. Assuming they don't change the format each individual match will a short race to 5 and the sessions would not be expected to over-run the 4pm end by more than an hour.

If memory serves sessions tickets were $25 per day in 2003. Not sure if there was a package that cost less if you were there all 4 days or not.

You could try the Matchrooms Sports forum. Other than that you can try calling the MGM Grand to see if they have ticket pricing yet. (I bought mine over the phone from them in advance in 2003)

I was there in 2003 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I only made it for the Saturday and Sunday sessions though. There were no VIP tickets available to the public, the VIP spots (front rows) were reserved for sponsors and the players and their families. May be different this time, again try calling the MGM. This one will be close to Xmas too, makes a great present to yourself from yourself ;-)
