Is the selection process for Team USA different than for team Europe? I'm asking because there has been a lot of speculation on here regarding who may or may may not be on the team, whereas for Europe things seem to be pretty clear.

The first 3 players are automatically selected based on the number of points, they are Kaci, Mario He and I'm forgetting the third. During the WPS event that just ended, they said Kaci was so far ahead everyone else that even if he was eliminated in the first round of every remaining tournament, he would still be in. Then 2 wild cards - betwen Filler, Shaw and Melling.

If the system was identical, then at least the first 3 US players should be known?

Current number #3 is Albin Ouschan and Niels Feijen was also mentioned among those players for wild card). It seems team Europe could appear the youngest in the whole history of the event. Lets imagine such team: Kaci (21), He (25), Ouschan (28), Filler (21), Shaw (30) if I'm correct 25 y,o, as an average),
 
Kaci is actually 19 😉

I don't think Fejen will be on the team. Filler is pretty much guaranteed based on the performance from last year, and the event takes place in the UK so they will want an Englishman on the team. My money's on Shaw.

Yeah, my mistake as for Kaci so that makes the team even younger;)

Jayson is from the sovereign state of the UK, and is from Great Britain because he is Scottish.
