Will the Mosconi Cup be streamed next week? It's supposed to be on DAZN but it's not even on the schedule? Who knows?

They won't list it til last minute. Emily at MR said it will be up shortly.

Does DAZN ever hold on to videos? Is there any pool to be watched on it right now?
DAZN has archives of some of the sports they carry like darts, MMA and boxing but pool is not one of them. I remember being disappointed for one event where I was a little late and no replay was available. I think it was possible to go back in the currently streamed program but it vanished once the stream ended. I suspect this has to do with how the broadcast rights licenses are written.

I see they do have some feature videos like half-hour bios of great cricket players and such.

It would be nice to see the matches live, but speaking for myself, I’m not going through much trouble or expense to do it. I’ll keep up with the results as they unfold through postings on here. That will suffice for me until the matches show up on YouTube, as they have in previous years.

I guess one reason I can’t get too excited about it this year besides Covid, is that I seriously doubt it will come down to the last few matches. I hope I’m wrong, but the Euros are dead serious this year with their lineup. I’d be surprised if the Cup isn’t clinched after the first few matches on the final day, if not sooner.

From the Matchroom press release:

BERGMAN RULED OUT OF PARTYPOKER MOSCONI CUP AFTER POSITIVE COVID-19 TEST
Former US Open Champion Corey Deuel To Join Team USA

Justin Bergman has been ruled out of the partypoker Mosconi Cup after testing positive for Covid-19. He will be replaced on Team USA by former US Open Champion Corey Deuel, who has provided a negative test result and will represent America for an 11th time at the event.

All players are required to test negative for Covid-19 just before departing for the UK, however Bergman’s test returned a positive result leaving him unable to travel to England.

Captains were asked to submit alternative picks in September, after they had chosen their team of five players. Team USA Captain Jeremy Jones opted for Deuel as his first alternate, hoping that the Californian can draw on his vast partypoker Mosconi Cup experience.

Speaking about Bergman being ruled out of the event, Captain Jones said: “It is a big body blow to a small man who has a huge heart. Playing in the Mosconi Cup means more than anything to Justin. He really likes the atmosphere of the team and having the other guys on his side, like most of us do. It is very, very unfortunate and one thing I can say about Justin is he will be our biggest fan out there.

“It wasn’t an easy decision but the way things went down with Chris being selected fifth and being a rookie, we felt like maybe if we needed a player to come in as an alternate we wanted a little more experience. Not to say that Tyler doesn’t have two years’ experience, but Corey has got 10 Mosconi Cups, and I think Corey is playing really well. When we talk about somebody coming in and filling shoes, we felt that experience was the way to go.”

Players will compete in the partypoker Mosconi Cup under Elite Sports Person Exemptions. They will be met on arrival to the UK and driven directly to the Ricoh Arena, Coventry for a further Covid-19 test and will remain within the event bubble until the completion of the event.

Everybody at Matchroom Multi Sport would like to send their best wishes to Justin – stay healthy, and have a speedy recovery.

The partypoker Mosconi Cup will take place from Tuesday, December 1 until Friday, December 4, live on Sky Sports Mix in the UK, DAZN and Matchroom.Live. Full broadcast details can be found at mosconicup.com

I hope JJ and JG can get CD a little more fired up. He looks like he's in a fog a lot at the MC. He has been playing pretty well and should step up. This may be his last MC. You never know.

Who knows how he will play but I definitely consider Deuel to be a stronger player than Styer. Mosconi cup performance is very unpredictable though- even Shane has struggled in the past

IMO its always looked like SVB has just tried toooo hard at the MC. Plus he's a quiet/private cat to boot and i'm not sure all the rah-rah stuff is his cup of tea. Looked more comf. last year even thos he got spanked twice by Filler.

I think the rowdy crowds affect some-most players more than they would like to admit. That and knowing others are counting on you ratchets it up a bit more.

I think USA is the underdog this year.
Playing in Coventry, England is not advantageous to our Team.
Here are the individual Mosconi Cup records for each player:
Team Europe
Ouschan is 13-4
Filler is 8-4
Shaw is 14-10
Kaci is 5-7
Gorst is 0-0
Total past performance: 40-25
Won-Lost percentage: 62%

Team USA
Corey is 28-24
SVB is 36-45
Sky is 15-15
Thorpe is 7-9
Robinson is 0-0
Total past performance: 86-93
Won-Lost percentage: 48%

Interesting to note that Europe has only one player with a losing record...Kaci.
The USA has only one player with a winning record...Corey.

I am pretty sure the US were pretty sizeable underdogs the previous two years. Anything can happen in the short race, but I am more interested to see if JJ has that same ability to get the US team focused and all on the same page.

I think the Johan factor played a huge role in the last two MC victories for the US.

Karl, that record for Corey is incorrect (it would mean he played an average of about 8 matches for each of his 10 years!). Here's a thread showing a little more detail for the records of each of these guys: https://forums.azbilliards.com/thre...eer-records-for-players-on-2020-teams.522835/
