Mosconicup and the British mob

Hey man, can't we all just get along? :D Our roots here in this country are from England, so, The Mosconi cup Euro team is like those cousins you hardly ever see coming to visit for Christmas and seem to stay just a little too long!!;)

oh, and if your guests are looking for a cup of tea, it's in the harbour up in Boston somewhere!...

Have fun at the event everyone, wish I could attend!

coming from grimsby a famous fishing town I like our chant best.

When the oposition support is low on numbers instead of the usual "you must have come in a taxi chant" we tend to sing "you must have come in a trawler" :)
Ah Grimsby girls. There can't be many taxis they haven't come in.

My favorite was always the pithy "You'll never make the station...". Of course for the Mosconi this year the Americans will need to learn to sing "You'll never make McCarran International Airport..."

It is worth noting that the organizers (Matchroom Sports and the inimitable Barry Hearns) deliberately encourage the "colourful" crowd members. When I went a few years ago they grabbed a group of UK supporters who'd won tickets in a pub/bar league. They were wearing crazy wigs and outfits and, whilst everyone else was lining up outside, they took them in first to ensure they were sitting up front where the cameras would see them. So if you want to jump the line just bring something large, loud and stupid-looking.

In 2003 they also deliberately played up the Davis/Strickland rivalry by replaying in agonizing slow motion on the video displays above the table the missed ball from 2002 that allowed Steve Davis to beat Earl Strickland and win the Cup for Europe. When they finally got down to their match that year Davis beat Strickland 5-0 :-)

I won't be able to make it this year, so give a little extra cheer for me please Vagabond.
