Most Talented Player

Well it's sometimes hard to tell who's really
naturally gifted and who attained it through
hard work. But I'll go with Strickland, when
he's in gear there's no one like him...he just
gallops through the racks. Some others would be
Keith McCready, I heard he was best in the state
of California at 15!!! Rodney Morris, he's so
smooth and relaxed, Pagulayan, he just reeks of
talent.

Now if you want to talk about all cuesports then
without question it's Ronnie O'Sullivan. I get
chills watching him sometimes. He had a 147 in
competition at 15 years old. At 17 he turned pro
and won 74 of his first 76 matches!

Bruce Berrong
most tallent, most waste
Has one of the best and most fluid strokes in the world. If he practiced like the other top champions, he would be one of the best. I've seen him blister Archer, Coltrain, and absolutely destroy Chamat for about 6 straight sets in Athens. Putnam has backed down from playing him even on 4 different occasions and you guys have him as one of the player of the year choices.
On topic of this thread... yes, Bruce has a lot of talent. What little I know of Bruce, he's a nice guy and a good player. We have some mutual friends so I know a little about him. On topic of the other thread that you mentioned... Gambling is not criteria for player of the year. For the most part, there are two different types of players... gamblers and tournament players. People who choose to be gamblers have to accept the fact that they're not going to get the "perks" that tournament players get, regardless of whether they're better players than the tournament players. Rookie of the year, player of the year, TV matches (sudden death 7 -ball, Mosconi Cup, Skins)...all of these things are given to or won by tournament players... they earned their accolades. Just because someone A)chooses not gamble, or B)does not play as well as someone else (tournament player or gambler) does not mean that they are not deserving of said accolades.

Keith McCready by far.
He is the only player i have ever seen or played against that just gets up there and peels off packages by 1 stroking the ball, without really thinking or taking his time. When he's on, he just runs out.
When he's off, well....he off, and i don't think his game is as consistent as it was 15 years ago, but when he is on, it is truly amazing to watch.
Anyone who has ever seen him in dead gear would have to agree.

To me, to 1 stroke everything and run out is a far more difficult acheivement to accomplish than a high level player who takes his time on every shot making sure he is aiming right and his stroke is delivering the right amount of power.

Keith on the other hand, doesn't waste any time thinking about it, he just does it.
