I just picked this one up and thought I would show it off. I really love the design and execution of this style Mottey cue. I prefer their Ivory 3/8-10 joints, so I might be persuaded to do a little trading.

Very nice looking cue. I sure like that style and Paul Mottey's work is just impeccable with superb attention to detail.

Not real sure if this is going to be my player or not, but I prefer the 3/8-10 ivory jointed Mottey and White cues, also like old Tad cues and any thing from the Schick shop post 94.

bad, bad cue....it use to have a home here until I 'kicked it out' :)

Show me a Mottey or James White with flat faced ivory joint and I will send it home:D

Thanks Simon, yep, those would do nicely, any chance your buddy would want to do some trading for the Mottey?

We can but ask my friend. I do know Dennis likes his Southwest cues though. Maybe if you manage to sell the Mottey, you could throw cash his way.

I am quite fond of the Mottey myself:D

the diamond,

the wraps on those cues are NOICE. is that albino ring tail? where did you get that???

oh yeah nice cues too.

james white and paul mottey do the best ring lizard wraps..IMO...

that wrap probably came on the cue when it was made..

nothing like the feel.. its awesome..

I am not sure but I suppose James stained the wrap on that cue. I have another James White with the same white Lizard. Maybe James can help or perhaps Spanky can shed some light on this.......????

The middle cue actually came with a white linen wrap first. I just fancied something a little different so James White put the Black Ring Tailed Lizard on instead. Very nice.

I really love the design of this cue, just not the piloted steel joint. I'm giving some thought to sending it to Paul and having the joint changed to ivory 3/8-10 and having a couple new shafts made. Any guesses on the cost from you Mottey experts? and is it worth doing? I've played with cues that have been changed from steel to ivory from Schick and Wheeler and they played fine.

Mike,

The ivory joint is $250, maybe $35 for the pin work, and I think their shafts are around $225-$250 now with ivory ferrules. So you're probably looking at $750 or so anyways.
